The course is very practical, an introduction to the preparation of bread only from sourdough, without yeast, with old Mallorcan cereals; All attendees participate in the preparation of bread and other products and at the end of it they take all the products made.
The course will be held on Thursday, November 28. The duration is from 16:00 to 20:00-20:15.
The objective of the course is for participants to be able to make their own bread at home without any industrial machinery and learn about the nutritional qualities of ancient wheats vs. modern wheats.
The topics that will be taught:
-Types of ancient Mallorcan wheats: history, characteristics and health benefits vs modern wheats
- Explanation of sourdough and its benefits in bread making
- Types of flours. Importance of wholemeal flours
- The Island of La Xeixa
- Blats Antics bread making
- Making Blat Mort rolls
- Preparation of Xeixa Marinera Biscuits with flax seeds
The course will be taught at the Panenostro facilities
