At present, Vins Nadal is a reality that Rafel Nadal and his daughter, the winemaker Esperanza Nadal, pamper every day.
Proof of this dedication is its objective of improving the management of the vineyard and the winery from a sustainable and environmentally friendly point of view. Both in the vineyard and during the production process, Vins Nadal minimizes the generation of waste and CO2 emissions, through the reuse and recycling of the materials involved and the manual harvest, maintaining the vegetable covers with the aim of minimizing water needs and eliminating chemical fertilizers which has led us to be part of the Regenerative Viticulture Association.
The Association was founded in November 2021 and brings together winegrowers who share its philosophy of protecting soil and vineyards.
Vins Nadal has already become a guarantee of environmental sustainability, reducing the environmental impact through the use of sustainable forests (PEFC and FSC), the use of light glass bottles with which up to 20% of raw material is saved, using labels of mineral origin and reducing the presence of capsules in the packaging. In addition, since 2018, Vins Nadal becomes part of the Business and Climate Foundation, a benchmark in the fight against climate change under which since 2018 it has carried out carbon footprint studies and from these, emissions are decreasing.
The evolution of this family business has been advancing according to its times: it began making wine for its own consumption that would later sell in bulk and gradually expanded its production and began to bottle it, as it continues to do today, with a total production of 70,000 bottles per year.
Vins Nadal produces wine protected by the Denomination of Origin Binissalem-Mallorca and by the Geographical Indication Vino de la Tierra Mallorca under two brands: Albaflor and 110 respectively.
Albaflor was precisely the name that Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Austria gave to his first wine made in Mallorca with the native Malvasia variety. The Nadal family found a parallel between this innovation of the Archduke and the task of recovering native varieties that the family has carried out throughout its history. Therefore, in general, Albaflor is the brand with the highest production.
110, is our other brand and is the name of the roots of our vineyards on which we have planted our grape varieties. For the Nadal family, using the name of our roots as a brand for our wines is a way of paying tribute to the winemaking roots that exist in our family.
